In order to set the permissions for the folders you do not want the users to
see, you would have to have the drive formatted for NTFS. Assuming that it already is, you can right click on the folder or file in question, go to Properties, then click on the Security tab. The default user that has access to the folder or shared resource is Administrator. Here you can add your permissions to the users. Otherwise, by default they can not view the resources unless you give permissions to access the resources. When you installed Windows XP Pro, was the file table set for NTFS or FAT? You can check using the Properties option when you right click on the hard drive that contains those folders/files.
