Ok, I posted, then I checked. My fault.
This list may? need?? a few more, so from "DOS the complete reference" (a very historic book) page 355, DOS command editing keys: F1 next character F3 whole line escape cancels and erases command F5 edit the current command buffer F6 places a CTRL-Z end of file marker in a file copied from the CON device I couldn't understand the F2 and F4 entries, and tried using them to edit a command, no effect. From "Tricks of the MS-DOS masters" page 187: CTRL-c aborts program if it notices Dos. Ctrl-break abort the current program as soon as it calls DOS (stronger than CTRL-C) Ctrl- numnlock -- pause the entire system until any key except numlock is pressed. Shift-PrtScreen Print the display on the printer device Ctrl=PrtScreen toggles echoing characters to the printer (may be disabled by app) Ctrl-2 double NULL sequence translated to Ctrl-C Well many of these seem all too old. Sean well I could not do the original message, so here it is: From: Tony Sivori () Subject: Here's a list of Keyboard Shortcuts and Hot keys View: Complete Thread (15 articles) Original Format Newsgroups: alt.certification.a-plus Date: 2002-10-08 16:22:05 PST I just passed the OS yesterday, and one annoyance during my studies was that neither book I used (Passport and All In One) had a list of all of the important keyboard shortcuts. They were spread out according to topic, but I find a list helpful for study purposes. So I made my own list. Here it is, and I hope it is helpful to readers of this newsgroup. And yes, I know the three fingered salute is missing. That is intentional because I figure that it is the first one all Windows users learn. =-) Keyboard Shortcuts and Hot keys Boot Keys Windows 9x F4 Boot to DOS F5 Safe Mode F6 Safe Mode with Network support F8 Start Up Menu Shift Prevents all autostart programs from starting. Ctrl click Selects only clicked items. Shift click Selects all items between clicks. Shift <drag file/folder> MOVES file/folder to another drive/partition. Ctrl <drag file/folder> COPIES file/folder to another directory on the same drive/partition. (Remember, default Windows behavior when dragging is to Copy to another drive, and to Move when the destination is on the same drive/partition.) Shift Del Deletes "permanently" (no Recycle bin). F2 rename selected file For Enhanced Keyboards Only Win Opens Start Menu.
