Right now i'm in school taking a course for the 70-291 exam and I ran into a
huge brick wall that stops me from going any further. It has to do with the
Lab Manual and Virtual PC.

At the beging of chapter 2 there are these things it says you need to do
before starting the chapter. One of the steps is authorizing the DHCP server
on computer01 and computer02. Now everything was fine on computer01 I was
able to run the DHCP program under "(E-Mail Removed)", but it wouldn't work
on computer 02. the http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/(E-Mail Removed) account work work on computer02. I
found out some other intresting stuff about computer02. You can't log onto
the contoso.com domain on computer02 I can only log onto atlanta.contoso.com.

This even has my teacher stumped and she's an old veteran who has been
teaching for forevor and knows just about everything on everything microsoft
related.

Are you referring to the MS Press book or something else?

Greetings from New Orleans!

Hi Brad,

I have one question for you that if it's no you probably will not fathom why
I would ask, but are you using Small Business Server anywhere in these labs?
If you are then I have your answer. If not we will have to examine further.

Yes I'm using the official microsoft books. No, i'm not using small business
server. I might just skip that part and hope i don't have the same problem
lat on in the book.

Hi,

Regardless of what other programs running in the lab, I would strongly
recommend running Ms Virtual Server instead of Virtual PC for anything
involving Windows Server and networks. I have had problems with VPC not
behaving well on some computers before, and Virtual Server gives me peace of
mind.

You can run Virtual Server on Windows XP Pro if you install IIS on it rom
the Add/Remove Windows components and its a free download.

I believe Virtual Server also utilise processor extensions for improved
switching between virtual machines and can be remote controlled from other
computers as well?

just my two kr.
