I recently passed the 70-210 (i know its old) and now I am going for my MCSA
2003 and MCSE 2003. In what order should I take the exams? Should I start
on 70-290 and then go consecutively or is there a better way?

But the 70-270 isn't required is it? I thought it was a choice between the
210 and 270 to take along with the 3 other exams for an MCSA?

You're correct, since you did the 210, you don't have to do the 270 for your
client os.
I suggest you do them in hierarchical order (290, 291 and your elective one)
....
