Hello, I am going to take a course here in Israel to become an MCDST or a PC
technician as they call it here. It does not require me to be certified but I
would like to be. I was wondering could someone tell me what book or books or
documents should I look for to read and study along with the course I am
taking?

Hey Montreal,

Do you want to start posting this as a weekly FAQ?

Shalom Danomyte,

Jonathan is right... we do seem to post the same answers to the same
questions over and over again In any event, here you are ve-behatzlacha!

Good luck on the exams. depending on your level of experience the MCDST
exams should not be too difficult and are a good place to start the path to
certifications I have posted extensively on exam and certification
choices on my blog and at www.certguard.com.

I have always been a big proponent of the MS Press Self-Paced Training books
for a number of reasons: firstly they are exceptionally well written, and
secondly they come with the Readiness Review Suite exam simulations, which I
have found to be extremely helpful in that they are always so much harder
than the actual exams. On networking exams I have found that a 55%-65% on
Readiness Review translates into a pass. I cannot tell you exactly what it
was on the MCDST exams, but I never scored better than 80% on the RR and did
quite well on the actual tests.

Monty (I can call you Monty can't I?) MCT, now you know
why the sarcastic answer of "google is your friend"
is so popular around here. It gets kinda tiresome answering
the same questions week after week, doesn't it?

And on the eigth day <(E-Mail Removed)> did cause the
electrons to come together and form the following words:

Enjoy helping other while you can. Sooner or later you end up all crusty
and cynical like the rest of us.
