what are the main differences?

I will be working as computer assistant and I want to get
the MCDST certification which is related to my new job. I
registered already for a on line course..
The MCDST certification is related on Windows XP but at
work I use Windows 2000 professional.
Are there too many differences? Is this difference going
to effect on performing my duties at work? How can I fill
this gap?
