I wouldn't really call myself a newbie, sorry wrong word. What I meant was
someone who has not taken any MS exams yet towards the MCAD credential. I
have been meaning to book my exam for a year so I finally got the courage
and booked 70-316 yesterday.
I have been using C# for around 2.5 years now, solid, most of which has been
Windows CE Compact Framework WinForms and the full 1.1 framework desktop.
I have an OO background too - started with Smalltalk, then OO COBOL. I have
also developed a commercial Web Portal in ASP.NET 1.0 to integrate with our
desktop HR product which works very well. But Web development doesn't
interest me as much as WinForm development. This is the reason I have chosen
70-316 desktop route.
I have now been using VS 2005 since beta 1, and now use the RTM version for
some of our products - but not all - yet!
Once 70-316 is out the way Web Services will be next which I have also been
using for some considerable time so should be no great shakes there then
finally SQL - been using SQL since v7 years ago. ADO.NET been usnig since
started with C#.
Do you still think MCAD credential is the right route for me at this time.
Many thanks
Simon.
