I'm thinking about training myself up for an MCAD
qualification, but is it worth waiting for VS2005 to be
released first? How long after VS2005 is released will
it be before Microsoft updates the exams?

That depends on your definition of "worth it." Are you looking for a job
today? Will you use the cirtification process as a way to make yourself
learn new technology?

Nobody knows whether there will even be any new exams.
