I was having a lot of problems with my desktop so I decided to
completely reformat and reinstall windows XP Pro.

After windows installed, my monitor has the lowest resolution of 640
by 480 pixels. The properties button for the monitor is "dim" and not
clickable. The color quality is at 4-bit and there are no other
choices available.

I went to the manufacturers web site to look for an updated driver &
it said that the monitor is plug & play and there is no update
necessary.

Also when I start the computer it goes to the screen that says F1 to
start or F2 to continue & doesn't load windows until I click on F2.
What can I do to make it load windows automatically?

I am running an Compaq desktop with XP pro. Thank you.
