networking a pc to laptop and then to internet

Hi,

What I am looking for is to be able to connect the pc to the laptop wirelessly and have access to the files on the pc from the laptop, and also be able to connect to the net with the laptop and pc.

What hardware and software would I need to connect a pc to a laptop? Both computers are running Windows XP with Service pack 2. The tower pc is connected at present to the net via a hard wired modem through Virgin Media.

I have a new D-Link wireless G ADSL 2/2+ Router. The laptop is a Sony Vio Model: PCG-7M1M with built in internal wireless connection software and I have a Cisco Aironet 350 series Wireless LAN Adapter for the laptop. Could I use any of the hardware peripherals mentioned or would I need new ones? Any help would be greatly appreciated
