Default synthesizing problem about complex numbers

i have a group of code which have some parts that include complex numbers. these codes must be synthesized but i have always got error messages about comlex numbers.
what can i do to synthesize these codes? i must find a way to synthesize the code which can do basic mathematical operation: addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.
or is there any readily available package on the net for my problem?
please help me, its urgent.
thanx from now...
