There is a new version of the JDK.
You can get it via http://mindprod.com/jgloss/jdk.html

Link will be updated shortly.

The Canadian national animal should be changed from the beaver to the ostrich.
Canadians elected a party that denies global warming so they too could pretend it presents no danger.

In some big table on that page all the changes involving
generics, new "for", enumerations,... are associated with
the 1.6 version, instead of with 1.5 further down.

Otoh, the same table-cell that mentions generics, etc. also
contains 1.6-specific stuff, so I'm a bit confused.

I often refer to this convenient summary of enhancements in JDK 5:

<http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/language/>

This link might make a useful addition to the 1.5 section. A reference
to it might clarify the 1.6 section.

Oops. This come from too much mindless copy/pasting. I created the
1.6 entry some time ago by cloning the 1.5 entry. It also comes from
the fact 1.6 came out when generics were still "new" in people's minds
even though they appeared in 1.5.

I'll have a look and clean it up.

Make sure you also get the docs. They have changed, which I have
never seen happen before on a minor version change.

Probably the most important feature is the "Next Generation Java
Plug-in", an improved way for deploying applets and web start apps.
