wireless computer to wireless printer and no router. will this work?

Hi
Should work if they can be configured to Ad_Hoc Connection.
However under such connection, when you print, No Internet.

Unlikely. As Jack wrote, this requires ad-hoc mode.
Ad-hoc mode is complicated and thus unlikely that cheap
periphs like printer support this.

This is one reason why in Linux, many wi-fi drivers
can work in "virtual AP mode", so printers and other such
devices can connect to the PC in normal (infrastructure) mode,
and a PC still remains connected to internet router.

If the printer is advertised as "wireless," it probably will support
ad-hoc mode. The inexpensive HP 6988 series printers do.
