Help! My 6 month old computer has had several components replaced as a consequence of a processor fan that broke. Fan broke, chip overheated, motherboard blown. Now, when I try to boot up, the system won't go past the first screen with the DVD drives plugged into the motherboard - in fact won't even go to setup. Without the drives plugged in, it boots just fine. As an additional joy, I can no longer access the internet with this computer. I'm using my old stand-by, but I'm working on a short film and NEED to get it done. Without the DVD drives and internet access I'm sunk.
Assume all the hardware works (4 x 500 HD, 4 DDR Ram, quad processor) and the power supply is adequate (1100 watts)
I'm pretty sure this is a software recognition problem. I can't run windows again for set-up repair externally because of the DVD drives. Is there something in setup causing the problem?
A little help?
