Ah, well I see they moved, they used to be downtown where the trainers
could practice at busy intersections & crowded sidewalks. Maybe that's
just a satellite office, it was a real small building.

GDB has two campuses, one in San Rafael and one in Boring, Oregon (no, I'm
not being petty, that's the name of the place). At both campuses, they have
a smaller facility somewhere downtown so that training walks can be done in
busier settings.

It's been about 15 years since I trained in San Rafael, they could have
moved the satellite to a different location. I'll have to check on that.

I trained with my first guide, Bonner in San Rafael, and with Dima in
Oregon. Both locations included a lot of scenic areas, so I intend to take
my camera along and get some shots.

In addition to being so well trained, the dogs are always gorgeous.

So, if you want to get a great shot of an incredible looking canine sitting
under a big redwood, let me know. I'm sure it can be arranged.

As for me, I'd love to check out one of those crazy lenses you keep finding.

Take Care,
Dudley

It was something like a used car lot, a few doors down from the bagel
shop. Certainly not the main office.

As long as your dog has a pack for carrying gear

Yes, this is what is so sad. Rita seems to have a very good grounding in
photographic theory, and, while I can't see her pictures, some sound fairly
interesting. But, if I take the comments literally, maybe it's better I
can't see them. My mind tends to filter through the over-the-top stuff and
focus on the stuff that merits attention. From what I've read, I respect
Rita for at least knowing what she is doing, and why she is doing it. It's
more than I can say for a lot of other people I know.

I've worked with a lot of people whose every second word was a curse of
somesort, so the profanity won't raise my eyebrows, but I can understand how
it might offend others.

Actually, Rita reminds me of a fellow I used to know who firmly believed
that "You have to be cruel to be kind." I just view Rita in that light,
that she is trying to bring out the best in others by getting people to
react at a gut level, to cut through the mundane in order to get to the
kernal of creativity that exists, but which doesn't get much of a chance to
develop.

I could be wrong. Time will tell.

Regardless, there are too many good photographers using this, and other,
groups to let a bit of static ruin the flow of ideas. I choose to filter
out the posters I find boring. Your idea to mark threads as ignored would
work equally well. In either case, and you can throw in the commercial crap
as well, if it doesn't get the desired reaction, the posters will either
conform to general practices, or they will fade away when their desired
outcome isn't achieved.

Take Care,
Dudley
