You can check folowing:
1. Server service must be running
2. Workstation service also running
3. WinXP firewall stoped
4. Other firewall corectly configured (exmpl. ZA trusted zone etc.)
5. It's good to run network setup wizard for both machines (for 98 with
removable med.)
I have similar configuration at home and these are the first things to
check before I establish it.
