I ordered an Asus M2R32-MVP with an Athlon X2 5000+ Black Edition from Newegg.com, set-up the system and got no response even after building with the bare essentials and a variety of other configurations. I get no post and no beeps, but the CPU fan, the video card fan, and the Motherboard green light power indicator all function. I called Asus and they told me that I need to flash the BIOS because the 5000+ Black Edition is a newer processor. I've searched all over the web for this topic and haven't found a thing. In 13 years of building my own computers I've never encountered a dead motherboard does this sound like one or is Asus right and I do need to flash the BIOS?
