Exclamation help with wireless, no networks

I have Linksys WMP54G-CA adapter installed on my computer. It does not find any networks. I installed and updated it. I changed PCI slots. I unistalled and installed it all over again. However, whenever i disable the adapter and then enable it again, the light of the adapter flashes for a few seconds like it is working and then dies. During those few seconds it seems to find a few networks around, but cannot connect to them as it says that wireless network is not available anymore.

This makes me think that the motherboard is find because it finds the adapter. The adapter seems to be ok, since it does flash for a bit and finds networks for a few seconds, but drops them. I am really confused. Anything is of help. Thank you.
