we are about to get a new server. we want the more memory with 64 bit
system, but we have sql server 2000 32 bit, so we will probaby get sql2005
64 bit. my question is how do I connect to sql server 2005 using the client
tools from xp/vista 32bit to a sql2005-64bit server? if server is 64 bit,
does my workstation need to 64 bit to administrate the server and/or
sqlserver?

thanks for any response,
Paul

I don't think so, but I'm not a sql server guy. You might want to ask this
over on one of the SQL Server newsgroups. I'm sure they've seen the question
before.

No the 'bitness' of sqlserver is completely transparent.
