IOW, you have no say - it shall be installed. Is that what it means?

It's optional. If you have the automatic update in automatic mode (er) then
it will be installed. If you have it in manual mode, then you don't have to
install at all. You can even hide it from theupdate list.

If you choose not to install this one, then, does it prevent future patches
from being installed?

Not sure. AFAIK if you don't validate then yes, non-critical patches will
not be downloaded, but the validation step is separate from the nagging
step.

What exactly does this do once it finds pirated software? I have my
updates set to 'download but prompt me before installing,' and noticed
this but of course deselected it and removed it from the updates list.
In the description it said it would 'help' users to obtain genuine copies.

It will put a system tray icon that will show up every boot or on a schedule
with a message about being a non-genuine copy. It will also prevent
non-critical updates of being installed.

The "help" I think is to lead the user to a wbsite where it can purchase a
license.

Hi Mauricio

I run mine on 'notify but don't load' and I have chosen not to install.
How do you hide it?
