kinda had this as well....fortunately we had some process matix around
deciding which projects had the biggest priority and the board agreed on
it. So senior people with a lot of clout cannot rough shod so easily,
some really wish they had not signed up to it.......did not stop them
trying to get round it though....I made a few enemies......it was time
to move and I did....funny thing is I heard they scrapped the matrix a
short while later.....and had some very expensive cock-ups a while later
......still Im a long way away now....

It's always the way - if you ignore the advise of the people that you've
employed for their expertise then you do so at your peril.

IMHO, the first time that occurs should be the heads-up. The second time
should be followed the day after with a resignation notice landing on the
manager's desk.

Once can be a mistake. Twice indicates lack of respect.
