It appears the NZ law has teeth, only if the spam contains a New Zealand
link
So NZ spammers only have to put in a .ru link instead to avoid fines?

Yes, I think you were being to literal....link as a legal term not a URL.

;]

Should be interesting to watch this in action, a NZ spammer will be
faced with going totally abroad....Now if say an ex-nz spammer spams
people about a NZ based company from China, we cannot get the
ex-nz-spammer but we can get the NZ company.....big slap.....wont happen
again if the business thinks of itself as legit....even dodgy ones will
see fines as an ever increasing cost of doing dodgy business.....I

n global terms spam wont decrease for NZers because spammers spam
everyone, but NZ spammers will be on notice....their livelihood depends
(I would imagine) on being able to advertise a NZ business.....follow
the money....

regards
