reckons he can watch copied dvds on his ps2 and it isnt chipped the
episodes are in avi and mpeg format can it be done

Only if he has an Action Replay unit or convert the files to DVDs using
something like Nero/WinAVI.

the only way i know, is to make dvd-R or dvd+r in the dvd format. It will
then play ok
