Internet when abroad

I intend to have a 6 week holiday in Egypt and Turkey next year and I want
to keep in touch with the internet for banking and other financial activity.
Now internet cafes have a bad rap for setting up key-logging passwords, etc,
so what portable devices (laptops - too big) are suitable. Or any other
methods, please.

Some of those ultraportable laptops are pretty small, but I guess you don't
want to buy an expensive item like that just for one trip.

Perhaps you could use phone banking ?

My HSBC account is the best - you use an online 'keyboard' to type your
details. It pretty much solves the solution of going to cyber cafes
although it is a tiresome signon process.

I wonder if HSBC NZ use the same banking software?

If you fill in the login/password with cut-and-paste from other stuff
on the screen, then the keylogger is stuffed.

If the Internet Cafe uses standard XP boxen then:

*To open On-Screen Keyboard, click Start, point to All Programs, point to
Accessories, point to Accessibility, and then click On-Screen Keyboard.
*The program in which you want to type characters must be active while you
are using On-Screen Keyboard.

cheers
Paul.
