though he never worked for them, but that's another story entirely...
The quote is: "The threshold for disproving something is higher than the
threshold for saying it, which is a recipe for the accumulation of
bullshit".
He was talking about theories of brain function, but it seems an apt summary
of USENET, don't you think.
