The OP clearly asked for a program that will take the contents of _just_
_one_ _directory_. That rules out disk-image-copying programs.

Windows XIMAGE can do both of those - either a directory, or the entire disk

Typical of a top-poster, not to even read the original posting:

"...that will let me take an image of just one directory(Win) &
restore just that directory, leaving all other directories."

The OP was under the impression that drive-image software will do this,
but if drive-image software will not do this, then that rules out
drive-image software, does it not?

you forgot to interleave. have you got brain rot? silly question...

Now, is it my fault, Harry's, or the OP's that the OP was vague /
misinformed? why the need to snap at everyone?

The closest I can find to something that matches the description "snap
at everyone" is the following
<http://groups.google.co.nz/groups?se...@bg.macroshaft.
com>:

>So I guess no matter what anyone recommends
>it will be no good because it doesn't do what the most densely
>idiotic creature like yourself would have it do.

Which are not my words--they were directed at me. For my part, I simply
kept patiently pointing out misconceptions that people seemed to have
about the original request, even as they kept proposing solutions that
were plainly inappropriate. Yet, for some reason, this makes me the
target of peevish or abusive responses like the ones above. Why do you
suppose that is?
