Anyone know a fanless (silent) video card that supports 1680 by 1050
resolution for the Dell 2005FPW widescreen LCD? I don't need high
performance.

What will it be Used for..?

Ie Video etc..

No special requirements other than clear text and not using system
RAM. It doesn't have to be suitable for movies but I might choose one
that was depending on the price difference.

there are several cheap GeForce 6200TC cards that are fanless:

as far as that resolution, i think any recent nVidia driver can add
custom resolutions.

would still go for a 6600GT if you can stretch the $$, much better
performance for that high resolution, (none fanless that i know of, but
they're still quiet).

You still need to get the heat put of the case..

Fan less ones can get very hot unless its a low end card that is not clocked
to high.

My GF FX5900XT only list 1600 x 1024 and higher (2048 x 1536 max) but not
what you have listed

Even my New GF 6600 GT does not list that screen mode but its the same as
the GX5900XT that I am selling, has one of the quietest Fans, came second
out of a bunch of cards for Fan noise..

It seems these are for Older Cards as my GF 6600GT has the same Screen modes
as the GF 6800..

I am puzzled why is list 256 Rams for the Nvidia cards, seems to me a Flawed
list.

PCI express is very new
Ive seen admitedly only one, X300 card that wasnt reliable
It could have been a lot of reasons but a PCI card in the same machine
worked flawlesly
The radeon needed a new driver to stop it locking the machine at
startup but still was not 100%
