Given the reported network issues today

http://computerworld.co.nz/news.nsf/...=Computerworld

does anyone have a link within the telecom site that provides updates
or information on network issues. I'm fed up calling my ISP when it is
a telecom issue.

But that only describes xtra related issues, and not general Telecom
faults.

Apparently there is a press release at

http://www.telecom-media.co.nz/relea...190&page=index

But I can't get this page to load.

Using my uber copy paste skills.. this is whats said on that page

An outage on the Telecom network has been affecting a large number of customers
since late this morning.

Telecom is working to repair the outage as soon as possible.

Telecom regrets the inconvenience to customers and will provide more information
as soon as possible.

The outage, which occurred at 10.48am today, has been caused by two separate
incidents affecting different parts of the network.

Internet, mobile and landline calls are affected.

Technicians are currently working on repairing one of the fibre breaks which is
in the Rimutaka area. Once it has been repaired the majority of services
will be restored.

Technicians are investigating the other fault and will repair it as soon as possible.

The outage is affecting calls to Telecomís own call centres, causing overloading.

Telecom is asking customers to be patient. We will provide more information as
soon as possible.

I had problems connecting and staying connected before 9am. I'm
currently connected at 16,800 bps which is not good enough to download
my mail. ))

Cheers, Kooky
