On my keyboard keys (and the light labels) all the words are written in
lowercase letters. All the alphabet keys and the 'F' on the function
keys which are all captials.

Check the "made in china" label.

Not being a Windozy user I'm not sure about AMD, but technically those
other two are abbreviations and should be written as R.A.M. and C.D.

Basic human laziness enhanced by the TXT generation is devolving the
writing / spelling skills (as well as language skills in general) of
the human race. It isn't helped by the near total lack of teachers
actually teaching those skills these days.

RAM, CD and AMD are acronyms hence the capitalisation like RAF.
Hard (Disk) Drive is a component like your arm and leg (not Arm and Leg)
getting the picture yet?
HDD being an acronym is fine.

Yes - you do - if you want to indicate some emphasis or something
significant to do with that which be capitalised.

I mean, what if you own more than one house, and one is your official
residence?

Much more elegant to simply say "House" rather than "my official residence".

It boils down to you saying "should not" and me saying "why not?"

Nope. "Assembled in Thailand" and it's not a label (it's molded into
the plastic). :-p

It boils down to having a basic grasp of your own language.
Everything you have just written would indicate butter fingers.

True.

Are you not capable of detecting the difference in importance or
significance between capitalised and uncapitalised words?

Face it, a lot of today's teachers do not possess the skills themselves.

You are inventing traits for the English language.
Sticking to the thread in hand..... why does 'Hard Drive' need to be
emphasised?
In the context that Scrooge used there was no obvious emphasis placed (or
intended (as I read it))
