Dead or Hot pixels on TVs aren't as noticable, but for me to buy a
Samsung(Sony) LCD TV, it would need a Dead Pixel warranty, and a decent
backlight warranty.

The back lights are now up to 30 years from what I have read, leaves a Plasma
for dead..

I dunno - most of the plasmas I've looked at seem a bit fuzzy and the LCD's
seem a lot sharper. The plasmas were 42" and the LCD's 32" though. I seem to
keep hearing worrying anecdotes about he Plasma longevity though.

Common specs for a Plasma are 852x480 resolution..
