During a scan with Nortons speeddisk (from Nortons Systemworks 2003)
It starts to scan etc and then pops up this error message

SD32 caused an invalid page fault in
module SD32ENG.DLL at 017f:004995aa.

Any ideas? yes I already un-installed it and reinstalled it, same problem
though.

It use to work fine. Hard drive is fine and error free.

This is a long shot, but:

did you try to shut the computer down, turn it off at the wall, wait 10
seconds and then restart it?

I have, on a few occasions, had serious memory corruption errors that
persisted through a shutting down of computer due to ATX mobos always
being powered up, with exactly the kind of symptom you describe (or Win
booting to a blank screen, or ... or ...)

TOTAL power down is always the first thing I try these days if my
computer starts behaving seriously screwy.

Can't help with your current problem but I would like to mention that I have
Systemworks '03 and used to use it on a couple of machine and use Speedisk
regularly. It's very disk-intensive (and I didn't notice any speed
inprovements afterwards as they claim) and I had two HDDs fail while running
Speedisk. Granted they were 'older' HDDs but I refuse to use it anymore,
anything that stresses the HDD that much can't be good. Even for new disks.
I use Diskeeper now and am very happy with it.
