Screen flashing with GL screensaver

The screen flashing with the Voodoolights screensaver is pretty
off-putting. It occurs when the screensaver goes fullscreen or when I
bring up the screensaver settings window. It always flashes three
times in a row.

Is this due to the video card, the software, Windows (9

or the
monitor (Philips 109P4)? Is there a fix?
