It's no secret the Razer has some big plans for the future. In addition to their increasing presence in the gaming mouse market they have a audio equipment and a gaming keyboard on the way. Though these are big moves for a company which has made its name for making nothing except gaming mice, there is more on the way.

Razer Pro|Solutions is an offshoot of Razer which is an attempt to use Razer's design in a professional atmosphere. As it turns out, high-end mice are not only good for gaming, but also for applications like CAD and graphic design. Paint the products a new color, add a new website and, there you go, Razer Pro. In addition to catering to the professional, one look at Razer Pro makes it obvious that these products are for Apple fans as well.

With the Tarantula keyboard on the way for gamers there was some question about what Razer Pro would have in store. The official word for some time has been that it is going to be a keyboard with its own iPod dock. The Pro|Type Multimedia keyboard not only has fully programmable keys and ten macro hotkeys, but also a dock which can sync and charge any iPod without the need for additional wiring.

There is not too much official information out yet, just a lot of rumors from Cebit and a press release (see below). The official price will end up being $99 and that this keyboard will have almost all of the features of the $99 Tarantula. They keyboard has won a red-dot product design awarda for distinction in product design. There is no word on when the product will be available but the Tarantula keyboards are already overdue. This product has been photographed and talked about since Macworld and everyone is ready to give it a try...

From the Press Release

RAZER PRO|SOLUTIONS PRO|TYPE™ MULTIMEDIA KEYBOARD
Work meets play

Sleek, streamlined and functional, the Razer Pro|Solutions™ Pro|Type™ Multimedia Keyboard is both smart and sexy.

All standard keys are fully programmable, together with its ten unique macro command hot keys and full set of media center keys (media keys include play, stop, forward, reverse, shuffle, eject, mute and volume control keys).

Other control function keys include buttons for power on/off, undo, visual (zoom in or out and 100% scale) and a music button that directly activates iTunes—making it the preferred one-touch control hub for multi-media programs and everyday computer functions.

As it is the first keyboard to integrate a universal iPod dock into its design, the lifestyle element is strongly embedded within the Pro|Type’s design.

This allows for easy synchronization and charging of all iPods without the hassle of additional wiring.

The keyboard also comes with a line-out for audio peripheral plug-ins, two USB ports for convenient peripheral plug-ins and a gold-plated USB connector for optimal conductivity.

The Pro|Type’s keys are moreover removable to allow for easy access cleaning or replacement with custom keys.

Beauty & Brains

Pared down and stripped of un-necessary bulk, the Razer Pro|Solutions™ Pro|Type™ Multimedia Keyboard is sleek, streamlined and functional.

Pure white exterior paired with blue-white ambient light combine to create the Pro|Type’s clean, minimalist design; its smooth lines and ridged curves marrying aesthetics with intelligence.

The gently sloping wrist rest gives way to an ergonomic design, accumulating to a mixture of elegant mod design and comfortable usability.

The Pro|Type™ Multimedia Keyboard is a tactile platform for work, life and play: a harmony of effortless form and superior functionality.

lol... As soon as I saw the glaring white crappyness of this keyboard, I knew it'd be something to do with iPod. I wonder how much they'll want for this piece of junk

Ahem, even Silver didn't read his own copy.
