I just upgraded to the 2.6 kernel in Debian unstable with apt-get install
kernel-image.
On re boot I found that xfree86 would not start, complaining
that it couldn't find a mouse.
The solution turned out to be using modconf to add
/kernel/drivers/input/mouse ps2mouse
and
/kernel/drivers/input/ mousedev
I'm probably teach granny to suck eggs here, the Debian users on this
group seem to be a well informed lot, but you never know.
