How do I set up Internet connection sharing on my windows XP pro
computer? I have cable internet connected to a wireless router with 3 computers connected to it using Cat 5 cable. Then My XP pro computer is on the other side of the house with a wireless network card I also have a ethernet card in it. I want to be able to share internet on the wireless computer so I can connect my xbox and playstation to the computer to get internet without buying a wireless adapter that converts wireless to ethernet I think they call them Gaming Adapters I have tryed to setup the ICS on xp but it says "there is a lan connection that is already configured with the ip address that is required for automatic IP addressing" I have heard that is uses 192.168.0.1 to do this my wireless router uses this IP so I change my router to 192.168.0.2 and the error still comes up so I am not sure what do do from there chris153@gmail.com |

Is this a repost? Someone else was asking the same thing like a week ago...
Anyway, I'm not going into details, because I've already done it once. heres a couple of steps. 1)On the computer that is going to "share" the connection, add the ethernet and the wireless to a network bridge. 2)Connect a crossover cable from said computer to xbox or playstation. (or to a ethernet router that you can share the connection that way) enjoy. -James G. <> wrote in message news: oups.com... > How do I set up Internet connection sharing on my windows XP pro > computer? That does not work you put the wireless and ethernet into a bridge the
it kills the wireless network and the ethernet and uses the bridges ip Chris153 |
