Hi Edith,
Yes - I do this with an external DVD writer. You must enable sharing on the extranal drive - right click on the drive icon, select "Sharing and Security", check the box to allow it to be shared on your network, and type in a name for the device - e.g. Edith CD. Note that if you switch the device off before you shut down the PC or if you boot up the PC before you turn the external drive on you will probably lose the sharing set up and will have to enter the details again. I find that if I power up the DVD writer before I boot up the PC and don't turn it off until the PC has shut down, the sharing details are remembered. Hope this helps, Peter C "edith" wrote: > Is it possible to access the same external drive with two home computers > using Wireless Networking and if so how do I do this? =?Utf-8?B?UGV0ZXIgQw==?= |
