I have a Linksys Wireless G router. I have one computer connected to this
router via Ethernet connection. I have a second computer that is connected via wireless. I am trying to set up a file sharing network between the two, but so far no luck. When I bring up the "My Network Places" and then click on "View Workgroup Computers" tab, the wireless computer shows the wired computer, but when I click on the icon, it shows a message that says "//(computer name) is not accessible blah blah blah. The network path was not found". When I click on "My Network Places" on the wired computer, it does not even show the wireless computer being on the network. What do I need to do to set up these two computers???? Thank you in advance for your help. =?Utf-8?B?Um9kbmV5?= |

Hi
Assuming that you Wireless is working (I.e. you can use it to surf the Internet) Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings, http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what is allowed to be shared. http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;304040 Jack (MVP-Networking). Rodney I have the very same problem with the to systems running on XP.
Some of my help from the others can be found under 'File sahring problems' 3/13/06. I have yet to solve the problem so if you manage to resolve it I would appreciate if you could inform me of your solution. Thanks and good luck! "Rodney" wrote: > I have a Linksys Wireless G router. I have had a similar problem setting up a workgroup with 2 desktops and
1 laptop all running XP Home. I have found an answer using Help and Support, by typing in "view workgroup computers" There is one article in Microsoft Knowledge Base - 318030 - which solved my problem. Hope this helps. OOOPPSS Shellgo back, something went wrong. Everything was going great and
now it stopped working. I can see the shared files in my network places but it won't let me open them! What a tease. Note, my son also has a laptop that can share, although not on any workgroup, it stopped working when got online. More help would be great!!!!
