Gentlemen:

I have a BusLink 250GB usb2.0 HD.

When I look at it with the XP Defragmenter it shows up
FAT32 192GB 9.89 (unused)

When I look at it with XP Explorer -> Properties it show up
182GB 9.88 (unused)

When I look at it with Partition Magic 8.0 it show up
TYPE SIZE MB USED MB UNUSED MB STATUS PRI/LOG
FAT32 196.60 . . . 186.47 . . . 10.12 . . . None
Primary
Unallocated 41.87 . . . 0.0 0.0
None Primary

Where is my 250GB???

TIA

Luke

Trimmed and rearranged for convenience

How much is a gb? Some say giga = 1000^3 and others wrongly say giga =
1024^3 which is actually a gibibyte or GiB not GB

2.5 x 10^2 x 1.024^3 x 10^6 = 2.68 x 10^8

That is, there is a 7.3% discrepancy at the gig level or over 18 megs.
So, if your gibi/giga inaccuracy decided to flimflam you, you only have
to find 232 gibi.

I wonder if PM means GB or GiB when it sez MB

These are saying mb when we were talking about gb or gib, so I'm
confused, but whatever they are, I can find over 232.

The fat32 + unalloc = 238.

It's the usually ploy of advertising hype. The box says "250" but what you
actually get is less. It's not the fault of the drive or software.

Remember the jewish Bill Gates gigabyte count of 1024. This is called being
"FROGGED" out of gigabytes.
