MCSD or MCPD --comments plz

Hi,

i am planing to start study for the Microsoft exam MCSD very soon. just
wondering, isn't it a good idea to go for MCPD exam which is latest and
has less exams.

your comments ?

Well, MCSD shows previous experience... although if you are willing to do
the beta exams, it might be worth while to do the MCPD right now. Since
the beta exams are free, then it probably is the best way to go. (They are
tougher than the MCSD ones, though!)

My thoughts on the matter, as already given in the Discussion Thread below is
study the new MCPD exams. If you are going to invest effort in studying for
accreditation you may as well expend the effort on learning subject matter
that will keep your skills current. The new exams will be based on the new
Net 2.0 platform and these are the skills that will be in demand increasingly
in the future.

In Additional study the new MCPD exams will count towards accrediation in
other specialist errors for example Architect Accreditation.

Also, I remember reading somewhere that passing the MCSD.NET upgrade beta
exams will get you "MCPD Enterprise Developer, Charter Member" as a title.
As I think "Charter Member" has a nice ring to it, I went ahead and took the
two upgrade exams...
