It's because they've split several certifications apart. Like the MCDBA for
example it's now MCITP: DBA or MCITP

BP one for programming and the other
for admin.
The MCSD will not be offered for the new line of Certs. Instead .Net 2 falls
under one of the MCTS line with is the Technology Specialist line. Also the
Development is broken into three lines as well now. So Lets say you are an
MCSD in .NET and you are going for the MCPDEAD (Professional Developer:
Enterprise Applications Developer) It has a prerequisite , the MCTS exams. I
know it's a bit confusing and to be honest I'm not entirely certain I'm
correct, but the way I read it is plainly that you need to take 2 exams only
(The upgrade exams).
If you are an MCSD in VB 6.0 you do not have a direct upgrade path to the
MCPD: EAD
