I have a desktop connected to a netgear wireless router connected to a
broadband connection. My laptop connects to the router via a wirless connection. Both computers are working and have broadband connection. I did have them set up as a network with shared folders on each (mapped as network drives), I re-installed XP on my laptop and now can't get the network to work and so can't access files and folders on each other computer or the shared printer. My workgroup name is the same on both. The desktop hasn't changed and still shows both computers in the 'view workgroup comuters' option but the 'laptop' gives the error message 'laptop-hsadasd is not accessible. you might not have permission blah blah blah...' the laptop name is correct - if anyone out there has any ideas please help it is driving me mad! Thanks very much in advance. =?Utf-8?B?RGFycmVu?= |

Do you have a firewall installed If eys, try to set it in such way that both
computers in a trusted zone. Check firewall settings on both computers. Also you can open network neiborhood and try to see computers. It is possible that you need to log in on a network with a password. Good luck. "Darren" wrote: > I have a desktop connected to a netgear wireless router connected to a > broadband connection.
