      09-11-2007
it has been ages since i have had to configure a gateway for a network
now i am faced with that challenge and i can not remember how to do it
using the dos prompt included with windows

HELP PLEASE!!!

Need more information.

What is the 'topography' of the network? That is, name the pieces and
parts; be specific.

sorry man its the gateway on the computer that i need to configure not
the actual gateway on the router i forget the command to change that
or the ip

Why not just do it through the GUI Network properties?

If scripting, look at the help output by

route /?

route change 0.0.0.0 x.x.x.x

x.x.x.x is the new gateway.

You can see the route table with

route print

Where gateway is the IP address of the gateway, as the 0.0.0.0 is the
destination net to be reached via the gateway.
