Taking ownership of files in Vista Home Basic

Just installed Vista Home Basic, I have never used Vista. I have 632
pictures that I have to take ownership of, and so far the directions the
Help and Support Center (within Windows) gives, is not working. The only way
I have figured out how to do the job is one at a time. Is there any way of
doing this in a bulk type form (multiple pictures at a time)? I have not
even reached half, and I'm already tired of doing it. Did I forget to
mention, I cannot cut my losses and just delete them and start from scratch,
as I don't have "permission" to do so. So far I have been going into each
individual file's properties, clicking the security tab, and selecting my
user as the owner, but even so, I still have to do it twice, as Windows
creates its own imaginary user that still doesn't unlock the file. Any
suggestions?

Under Mac OS, if we wanted to do this, we'd apply the changes to a
folder containing them all. I think it's similar under Linux and Unix.

If you're really lucky, and the Microsoft guys envied that, there is a
way to do the same under Windows.
