hello there
the msde is in the regular SharePoint installation-right (the first option on the very first step) ? because I did it already(and as far as I know-I don't need sql server on the machine and i'm not willing to install sql). Do I need to continue with the default db which in the first step or open a new one ? In the second step-do I need to insert (in the filed "db server) the name of the server that i'm installing the WSS on (which is the same one) and what is "the name of the db of sql server" in this case ? Thank you very very much and i'm realy appreciate your help! =?Utf-8?B?c2hhaGFyYzc=?= |

did you hear "=?Utf-8?B?c2hhaGFyYzc=?=" <> say in

The limitations of the desktop engine outweigh the benefits of a full SQL implementation. If this is merely for tinkering however, ok. Sharepoint will typically create 4 databases, one called SharepointPortal_config and a _PROF, _SERV and _SITE database that is prefixed by the name of your SPS site. as for your step by step manual, I think you need to give us a few more details... -- Neil MCNGP#30 - Why is the alphabet in that order? No, you must have at least MSDE; I have been using it for the past 6 months, if I had the money I would install SQL. > 2.
