Many, if not most, will work with both versions of the OS.

You mean you want to move the hard disc (drive) from one to another?
XP may check your hardware, think it is on a new computer than the one
it was registered on, and require you to re-authenticate with Microsoft.
Do you want to have that hassle every time you move the drive?
