I should done this a long time ago, but hey. I have completed 70-210,
70-215, 70-218 and A+ and Net+ to get my MCSA 2000. Now I will be getting 70-292 to upgrade to get MCSA 2003. However since a number of 2000 exams are getting expired I am wondering if is better to get MCSE 2000 before March '08 or take more time and get MCSE 2003 =?Utf-8?B?R3JhaGFtIE0=?= |

That would be the only logical reason to pursue MCSE 2000 if you are afraid of the exams retiring in March. Do you really think you will be designing and implementing network infrastructure based on 2000 in the future? The upgrade exams 70-292 and 70-296 are also retiring at the same time. You will still be able to "upgrade" to MCSA 2003 by taking 70-290 and 70-291 instead of 70-292, and MCSE 2003 by taking 70-293 and 70-294 instead of 70-296 (given of course that you obtain MCSE 2000). A lot of shops still have 2000 boxes as member servers, so the MCSA 2000 will probably serve you well in addition to the 2003 path. Your original path to upgrade to MCSA 2003 certainly sounds reasonable to me, then move forward to MCSE 2003. (Note: your MCSA 2000 will serve as the elective for MCSE 2003, so you will only need 3 additional tests once you have MCSA 2003). John R John R |
