Hi,
I have an MCSA and MCSE on Windows 2003 and I want to get the security specialisation. I don't see any point in taking the ISA 2000 exam as ISA 2004 has replaced it, but on the MS website, ISA 2000 is listed as necessary for MCSE+S. I guess my question is, will the 70-350 replace the ISA 2000 exam soon as part of the MCSE +S? Answers most appreciated =?Utf-8?B?V29wcHltYW4=?= |

I think this would be a very good question for They can answer your question directly. Regards, Peter Forster MVP Windows Server Networking Austria =?Utf-8?B?UGV0ZXIgRm9yc3RlciBbTVZQXQ==?= |

According to the link for the 70-350 exam it does count toward the security
specialization. You do not have to take an ISA exam however as the Comptia Security+ exam will also count toward it as long as you also take 70-299 and 70-298 which is what I did as there was no study guide out for ISA 2004 when I was obtaining my MCSE Security for Windows 2003. The link below explains more though MS has not updated their website for the MCSE Security certification which they should do soon to end the confusion and I would certainly verify such with MS before you start the studying to make sure exactly what the requirements currently are using the second link low. --- Steve http://www.microsoft.com/learning/exams/70-350.asp http://www.microsoft.com/learning/su...rthamerica.asp Credit Toward Certification When you pass the Implementing Microsoft® Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 exam, you achieve Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) status. You also earn credit toward the following certifications: a.. Elective credit toward Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 certification b.. Elective credit toward Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 certification c.. Elective credit toward Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA): Security on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 certification d.. AIUI, the current IT Pro certs stay in place as is, to be gradually replaced/sucerceded by the new set of certs announced in early July. Thomas doctordns@gmail.com |

Thanks Rowdy,
As i mentioned in my original post I already hold my MCSE & MCSA on Windows 2003, I want the +S specialisation so need to know if Microsoft are intending on allowing the 70-350 to count towards it. At the moment there is no information on their website about this, Regards, Woppyman "Rowdy Yates" wrote: > "=?Utf-8?B?V29wcHltYW4=?=" <> wrote in > news:3F39FA78-4D20-4BF8-A2E2-: > > > Thanks for your swift answer Peter, > > > > I will do as you suggest, > > > > > > Paul Vincent > > Security Consultant MCSE '03 > > > > > > > > "Peter Forster [MVP]" wrote: > > > >> Hello, > >> > >> "Woppyman" schrieb: > >> > >> > I guess my question is, will the 70-350 replace the ISA 2000 exam > >> > soon as part of the MCSE +S? > >> > >> Well, I think yes, but I'm not sure when.
