Having problems installing updates.. GDI , Geniune Advantage
Notification and Malicious Removal Tool on Windows xp2 - when I get
message to install updates.........then install I get message that
system is not protected and have to do a system restore...........can
anyone help thanks in advance

From the inadequate details you supplied it produced 9 articles.

At top of knowledgebase, type *exactly* the windows error
message you receive - word for word, exactly as it appears
on screen.
You will see it is already set to search for solutions in "Windows
update".
But use the drop down menu to widen the search for solutions,
also search in "WinXP <your version - home or pro> SP2 etc.
If you do it right, and use the exact error message, it will
produce a solution.
