My HP Pavilion 6231OD with 2 Gig RAM, 120 Gig. HD, Intel Core 2 CPU
T5200 @1.6Ghz, has a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850S DVD burner that has been
running at 8x...until the past four or five days. This is a recent
replacement DVD burner so it SHOULD be good.

Now it writes at 1.14x MAX!

Any ideas on what to check? What to do?

Thanks!
