Everybody will have an opinion. If you update your system you will probably
have a negative opinion. I built a new system and am very happy with Vista.
If you have XP now, don't change.

I built a new system but still say no, most emphatically. 500Mb just
to run a fancy clock......I don't think so..

Vista has more security features than XP. It has more solutions to do other
things than XP.

I like Vista very much. I like it better than any previous version of the NT
based O/S for workstations, like XP. I have not had any problems with Vita,
period.

I suggest that you back up your data. Then you can get the Vista Upgrade DVD
and boot from the DVD and format the HD and wipe out XP, laying down Vista
fresh. Most users that have XP on the machine, seem to run into trouble when
doing the upgrade over XP.

What you have to be concerned with is your machine Vista compatible.

Is the software you're wanting to install Vista compatible?

ONLY get it if your system is completely up to date!
I'm a beta tester for Microsoft. You will need a 2.0GHz system with a
min of a 1/2 Gb prefered 1 Gb ram at least 400Mhz (PC3200) a video card
with 128 Ram that will run Acive X 9.0
2.5 GB HD free (yes that much for full install) Their are 3 versions a
low level, home level, and pro level. Prices are from 140-500 $ us for
proram. It comes on a DVD (- type). Most of your programs that are over
4 yrs old most likely will not run well with vista.

I'm staying with my XP pro PS2 with all current updates. MS will support
this version of OS until 2010 they have said after that your on your own.

If your system is over 2 yrs old you haven't a prayer of vista
installing or running well on the system.
